Change perspective and be happy

by Arpit

People see everything from their own perspective. A problem appears as an opportunity to some people while it remains a problem to others. It is a game of perspective. Some people get demotivated on getting an average college, while others regard it as a learning opportunity.

Guru Dronacharya asked Arjun, "What do you see?"

Arjun answered, "The eye of the bird."

"If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden." -Frances Hodgson Burnett, 'The Secret Garden'.

Other pupils saw birds, trees, and other things, while Arjun noticed only the eye of the bird.

Life is all about perspective. The way you see things defines you. I have experienced the power of changing perspective. Many times, I got the solution when I saw the problem differently.

“The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.” ― Horace Walpole

Today we all are living in a result-oriented way. We become happy when we achieve some positive results. But out of 365 days, how many positive outcomes can we get? A very few. Changing perspective here can make you happy all the time. Results are the outcome of continuous development. So even when we fail, we gain something. Failures also assist in producing results.

“No two persons ever read the same book.” ― Edmund Wilson

Sometimes, we feel demotivated, and the joy from our lives diminishes. Instead of sitting idle and feeling dejected, we can create a positive atmosphere. Sometimes, a small change can enhance our energy levels to a great extent. But to switch from plan A to plan B, there is a need to change the perspective. Remaining optimistic in the worst circumstances is really beneficial.

Seven ways to change your perspective and be happy are-

  1. Friendship with positivity

Think positive in challenging circumstances. Stay away from pessimistic things. Listening to positive affirmations can have a massive impact. Accept your mistakes and be always ready to improve.

  2. Manage your expectations

Expectations can make you weak internally. Never expect anything from others. You do your own karma and let others do their own. Never get affected by others' deeds.

  3. Get rid of anger

An angry person is unable to make good decisions. If you want to change your perspective, you need calmness. A peaceful mind is capable of achieving anything effortlessly.

  4. Practice forgiveness

There will be many situations in which you have to forgive others. Forgiveness is an act that can overcome negative emotions. It helps in reducing anxiety.

  5. Writing a diary

Starting and ending your day by writing a diary helps in many ways. It helps to control your thoughts and actions. It helps in analysing your mistakes.

  6. Always smile

A smile in the most challenging situations can elevate your mood. There are many other benefits of smiling. It helps our bodies release cortisol and endorphins that provide numerous health benefits.

  7. Live in present

You can make plans for the future, but you need to remain in the present. How can your future become bright if you can't live your present moment wisely?

It is very easy for me to tell you the strategies to change your perspective. But an enormous amount of patience is needed in doing so. But with persistence, you can be capable of changing your mindset. Have a good day.
