Lincoln's legacy as a defender of liberty, equality, and tenacity remains even after his assassination. His legacy began with his humble beginnings and ended with his untimely death. In the following paragraphs, we will look into the life of this great leader and his many accomplishments.

Abraham Lincoln had a humble beginning to his life, beginning on February 12, 1809, when he was born in a log cabin in Kentucky. He had educated himself via experience and had a sharp mind and a profound appreciation for books, which fed his intellectual curiosity. Before he started his career as a lawyer, Abraham Lincoln had a variety of professions when he was younger. These jobs included rail-splitting and storekeeping.

Lincoln's rise to power in politics was gradual yet substantial. First elected to the House of Representatives in Illinois, he represented Illinois in the House of Representatives of the United States of America. His reputation as a convincing and principled leader was established despite the occasional setbacks in his political career. His constant devotion to liberty and equality helped develop this reputation.

When Abraham Lincoln took office as President of the United States in 1861, the country was on the brink of civil war. Following his election, several southern states declared their intention to secede from the Union, which posed a significant threat to the integrity of the United States. Despite the enormous strain he was under, Abraham Lincoln never wavered in his determination to save the Union. He is popularly credited with saying, "A house divided against itself cannot stand."

Lincoln's leadership and determination were put to the test by the outbreak of the American Civil War in 1861. As Commander-in-Chief, he guided the Union to victory over the Confederate states. Throughout the war, Lincoln deftly negotiated the intricate political and military terrain, employing measures that included the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared freedom for enslaved people in territory controlled by the Confederacy. This pivotal action not only altered the moral landscape of the war but also shifted the focus of the conflict to one that was fought for freedom and justice.

On April 14, 1865, just a few days after the Confederacy had surrendered, Abraham Lincoln was tragically killed, resulting in his life's abrupt termination. On the other hand, his legacy has been preserved throughout the annals of American history. Lincoln's direction during the Civil War was crucial in laying the framework for the maintenance of the Union and the eventual end of slavery.

In addition, Lincoln's dedication to unity and equality continues to reverberate in the modern world.
